‘Whoever welcomes in my name one such child as this, welcomes me.’ (Matt 18:5 )
Children are an integral part of the life of Stainbeck, and we welcome any newcomers to join Sunday Club group which takes place during our Sunday morning service.
All children share in the first 20 minutes of the service and then go to a separate part of the building (usually downstairs) with their Sunday Club leaders.
Babies and very young children can stay with their parents in the main church or join the children’s group where we can create a baby corner. If you need to feed your baby during the service the church has a quiet space at the back with soft toys and children’s books where you can listen to the service and carry on looking your baby.
We offer a varied session including singing, reading, games, and craft and fun activities.
Children who join Sunday Club explore the bible stories in a variety of ways with their leaders. We follow the lectionary and take inspiration from the Roots material www.rootsontheweb.com to organise our session.
We explore the week’s bible passage using story telling, drama, games, craft activities, cooking or supervised computer based activities. We adapt our activities to the ages and intestests of the children.
We aim to keep the atmosphere light and happy, a loving, understanding and supportive environment for all our young people. They often delight us with their openness and their creativity, are very welcoming and really enjoy making new friends.
Every fortnight, the High-School age children have the opportunity to meet together with a Youth Leader. Teenagers are encouraged to join the local Chapel Allerton Youth Cell. For details contact Angela.
