fter Eights Footgolf – Wednesday July 20th 2016
What a beautiful evening to try out Footgolf at Wike Ridge Golf Club!!! Thirteen After Eights (including 3 husbands) came along – Ann and Pam walked round the course and eleven others took part in this latest sporting craze!
What is Footgolf?
Simply take two great sports – football and golf – and combine them into one great activity. You play by kicking a football into specially designed holes and trying to take the least number of shots as possible. Footgolf Leeds features 6 specially designed holes – with distances ranging from 39 to 90 yards.
We all chose our football, picked up a score card and proceeded to the first ‘tee’.
Doreen & Peter kicked off first as a 2 ball with decent shots on the 1st hole, followed by 3 x 3 balls – Sandra, Colin and Cynthia, and then Kay, Elizabeth and David. The final group of Marion, Luke and Sylvia brought up the rear!!
It was really interesting and enjoyable and we all improved as the round progressed!! The blue sky and sunshine stayed with us throughout the evening which was a bonus!!
The winning lady was Sylvia Webster with 26 points, joint runners-up were Marion and Doreen with 27 points. Peter Moore scored 25 points which is not bad to say this was also his first attempt at Footgolf!
We all enjoyed a well earnt drink afterwards (in the sun) – all in all a great evening!!
